In short, ‘Cinderella’ is a tale of a girl that is a maid to her stepmother and step sisters, gains a fairy godmother to attend a Royal Ball and falls in love with the prince. There are around 500 different versions of the Cinderella tale, just in Europe! The Disney ‘Cinderella’ movie is what Cinderella is commonly associated with, and that movie came out in 1950. Cinderella hasn’t always been as we all know her, in fact her story was first told in around the 17th century and was a much darker tale.
